We live in the UK and rent out Casa Azahar as a holiday rental in Granada through this website, HomeAway, Airbnb and Trip Advisor when we are not using it as our holiday home.

The first time we came to explore Granada was for a walking holiday in the Alpujarras  in 2003.  Repeatedly we found ourselves  being drawn back for the mountain walking, the cycling, the sunshine, the sea and the peace. A few years ago circumstances conspired to bring us here to live for a year in Salobrena on the Costa Tropicale. It was during that time we realised that while we loved the coast and the mountains, the Lecrin Valley was a great compromise between the two – peacefully away from the crowds and in the hills but not involving hours of hairpin bends to get there. And as an added bonus Granada city a simple half hour whiz up the motorway. A casual enquiry at the estate agent in Restabal while we were on holiday one year and we ended up doing what we said we never would…

” A unique paradise in picturesque mountain village.”

Casa Azahar

Casa Azahar – A restored, rustic and romantic three storey townhouse in the small, sleepy village of Saleres, with pool, terraces, wifi, outdoor bathing and two bedrooms.

Lots of quirky and Moroccan touches and plenty of space to relax and enjoy the wonderful Lecrin Valley, half an hour south of Granada, forty minutes from the Costa Tropicale and an hour from the Sierra Nevada ski slopes.

We wanted to come away and have a relaxing break from London and this was the ideal place for that. The house is so peaceful and private you’re basically in your own little world. The pool is a great place for when the sun gets a little too hot, the first floor is perfect for an evening BBQ and the rooftop is a lovely way to enjoy the night sky and the stars. We had an amazing walk through the gorge on our last day, which certainly is an adventure we would definitely recommend. To sum up we had a wonderful week and would definitely visit again!

The house was restored about 10 years ago and is a comfortable place to stay with lots of Moorish touches like the interior patio to cool you down; low, laid back lounging in the living room and shuttered windows with Juliet balconies. There is plenty of outside space for all weathers – sunny spots and shady places; views across an orange grove to a small stream and the terraced valley opposite; the pool, an outdoor bath and shower and all of it very private.
