Saleres is a tiny village in the little known Lecrin Valley in Granada province, Andalucia, Spain.
The village of Saleres is at the western end of the Sierra Nevada mountains, about 30 minutes by road to the city of Granada, 40 minutes to the coast and an hour to the ski resort of Pradollano.
Casa Azahar (Azahar means any white flower blossom) is a three storey town house on a narrow carless street in the village with views of an orange grove, stream and terraced valley. It is our holiday home. A quick visit one day when we happened to be on holiday in the area and we did what you, apparently, never should – fell in love and put an offer in on the spot.
The fabled boast of the area is that you can ski in the morning and take a dip in the sea in the afternoon. We’ve never tried that as our main aim when here is to take all things easy…but there is certainly plenty to do. Have a look at our Explore pages to see what is on offer.
Saleres is about an hour and a half, mostly by motorway, from Malaga airport and similar from Almeria airport. There is also an airport outside Granada which is about 40 minutes away.
