Casa Azahar is on a narrow, carless street in the sleepy little village of Saleres. The house is on three levels with terraces and outside spaces on each floor.

Kitchen

You enter the house from the street into the kitchen/diner. Here you’ll find everything you need for a relaxing time away whether you want to cook up a three course meal or just make a cup of tea or coffee.

While the kitchen is fairly rustic with its stone marble sink, old tiled floor and re-purposed wooden doors it’s a comfortable, cool place to cook and eat a meal – especially when it’s hot outside. There is an electric oven, gas hob and microwave, washing machine and fridge freezer together with plenty of crockery, cutlery and serving bowls. There is also a woodburner for cooler evenings (wood available from the local garage). The table seats six and overlooks the patio and sun room.

The rustic kitchen has everything you need to make great meals from local food.

Interior Patio

The kitchen leads on to the interior patio, a typical feature of the Moorish houses in this area of Spain. With it’s giant swiss cheese plants, stone mosaic, comfortable bench and water feature it’s a peaceful and shady place to sit and relax in the heat of the day.

Sun Room

The other side of the interior patio is the Sun Room and pool. This is another living space with room to sit and read, have a drink and relax after a swim. There is also a loo and outside shower to one side of the pool and stairs from the back of the pool lead up to the first floor terrace. The pool is small but very deep and measures 6m x 2.2m. There is underwater lighting for night time swimming.

Living Room

The Moroccan style living room on the first floor opens up to a sunny terrace that overlooks an orange grove, stream and the terraced valley that surrounds the village of Saleres.

Twin Bedroom

On the first floor is a twin bedroom with ensuite shower, loo and basin that overlooks both the carless street and the interior patio.

Double Bedroom

Carry on up the final flight of stairs and you get to the second floor with its double bedroom, ensuite loo and open bath. This room opens out on to the top floor terraces where you can take an outside bath or shower under the stars and sit on the swing seat listening to the birdsong and watching the House Martins circle around at dusk.

Top Terraces

The terraces from the top bedroom overlook an orange grove, stream and the terraced valley that surrounds the village of Saleres. Here you can take an outside bath under the stars, sunbathe, barbeque, or sit on the swingseat soaking up the birdsong and the peace.
